Two years ago while driving home from the Chicago show, my wife turned down the radio, looked at me, and said "we could do that too.". I had no idea what she was talking about, but she explained that we could, if we wanted to, start our own toy soldier company. And so we began the long journey of figuring out exactly what we wanted to accomplish, and how we wanted to go about it.
After lots of work, I'd like to introduce you to our new online home and our new website...

Alright! All the best in your new enterprise. Can't wait to check out your new figures.
Where can I see those figures of yours???
oh WOW! That's great eh! I wish you all the luck in the future, I'll make sure to pick up a couple of your figs. What genres are you planning? WWII *fingers crossed*
I know that you are into US Civil War so imagine your first figs will reflect that but would like to see Spanish-American War figs,Spanish,Cubans,Filipinos,US Marines,US Navy Landing Party,Roughriders,Coloured Troops. Also modern day figs Europeans,US,Israeli,Taliban are needed.Agree with Col.Pickle for WW2 such as 1939 Poles,1940 Dutch.
Re:US Civil War figures you are planning to produce don't forget the US/CS Navies, naval landing parties/gun crews. Also remember how many votes "Pork Chop Hill" received in your survey,N/S Koreans,US Marines in winter coats,Chinese,US Army,UN troops.
Get Some Beau! Any new ACW is all right with me and if your first figure is an example, these are going to be beauts! "Beau's Beauts!" I like the sound of that!
Looking forward to seeing them up close next week in San Antone!
Anonymous agreed with me on WWII but added that you should do some Poles and Dutch. I must disagreee though. You're a new company, with no reputation. Better to take the safe route and do some Germans or Americans or Russians. Make the poses unique of course, perhaps medics or something, but don't go for the obscure nationalities and units or you risk not being able to get off the ground so to speak.
Col.Pickle,Col.Pickle you forgot British/CANADIANS eh!,LOL.I know most people think WW2 was just German vs Russian,US vs Germans and US vs Japanese but there were others in there too.Yes Beau once you get started on WW2 am just saying don't forget the others, don't expect you to start with something like 1939 Poles just an idea, you see how much the Airfix Italians always go for on Ebay so once you get established try something like the Poles,I'll bet they sell. Also don't forget how different figs from 1939,1941 for the Yanks will look different from 1945 appearance from same Armies.
"Col.Pickle,Col.Pickle you forgot British/CANADIANS eh!,"
Oh dear. If someone made Canadian soldiers I would involuntarily do things innappropriate to describe on this site. I would kill for a set of Canucks :)
all the best add me .I'm a figure manufacturer
Beau, having seen your soldiers and meeting you and your lovely wife, I can only repeat my best wishes for you in this endeavor! For those of you who haven't seen the guys up close, THESE are going to be worth having! Better proportioned that Conte's ACW and fit to stand beside TSSD's guys. I can't wait to see your Yanks! After that, I will probably buy whatever you come out with just to include them in my collection. Agree with COL. Pickle, to go with what's popular until you build up your reputation (which won't be long), then make whatever you want. But I'm sure whatever you make if you maintain the high standard I saw in San Antonio, it will sell!
Personally, I've been lobbying HaT for years to make some Pomeranian Piccolo Players!
Wow,
starting your own toy soldier company must have taken a lot of guts. Your figurines look great!
