It's based on a Japanese epic "The Seven Samurai." I think you'll like the Bushido Code theme in the film as it's transposed to gunfighters. If you liked those two, check out "Tombstone" with Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer, if you haven't already. The Gunfight at OK Corral scene is THE most accurate I've seen.
